The Sweetest Taboo

In the history of forever, there have probably been only a handful of women who can claim that they’ve had a direct impact on the rapid growth of the world population. Sade Adu is such a woman. Her music is the stuff of legend, the kind of sway that gave the census bureau much to do in the 1980s and 90s.

Sade has a power and sophistication that defined the 80s and 90s, much in the way that fashion became an unstoppable force in pop culture. Though it’s obvious to anyone simply looking on that she’s a very sensual woman, it’s her fierce strength and personal moral standard that has driven a schism between her and the rest of the pop world, especially when it comes to the image of women. She’s never apologised about her sensuality; however, it’s something that she’s never touted as a gimmick or a ploy to get more attention. She’s simply magnificent.
