When you talk about groups that gave poetry a place to rest, there’s nothing quite like the Hip-Hop groups of the 90s. It’s no mistake that some of the most profound knowledge you’d find anywhere came in the form of Hip-Hop. It was the time of the “crew” –your boys, your boys’ boys, and your boys’ boys’ boys all in one unified front to bring noise, truth, pain, and love to the forefront of the music industry. Digable Planets, Salt N’ Pepa, De La Soul, Arrested Development, and, of course, A Tribe Called Quest, all of these groups had one thing in common: originality of thought and sound.
